The End... Sort of

Hey guys, so new year is coming up and to be honest I don't know if I have the time to keep this up, I mean what with homework, sleeping, watching cat videos on the inter- ... I mean school stuff. Just kidding to be honest we all know the real reason I'm stopping is because I am a very lazy person with low standards. But all the same I am really going to miss all of you, even though I have no idea who any of you are. I mean seriously you guys could all be mass murdering prison inmates who have nothing better to do. But I like to think you're not and in the short time you've come to know me, you have started to appreciate my posts.

Maybe one day I'll start posting again, but I probably wont, so then I guess being British there's nothing left to say except perhaps Cheerio old chap.... yeah maybe I shouldn't say that.

See ya soon,
Alex

Make it Snow

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

"Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of Toys, and St Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of Toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler, just opening his pack.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of jelly!

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

Oliver Thornton

This Blog post is dedicated to perhaps one of the most talented men out there. A dazzling star of London's West End showcasing as the one and only Felicia Jollygoodfellow in the show Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and the king of the bedroom as Franknfurter in the Rocky Horror Show 40th Anniversay tour. He is a star of the modern age as well as a hero of the past, if an incredible singing voice wasn't enough his impeccable sense of style can speak for itself whilst reflecting his charming characteristics. Ladies and gentlemen Oliver Thornton:

It's Kind of a Funny Story

Recently I watched this really great film called it's kind of a funny story. To be honest the only reason I watched it in the first place was because it had Zach Galifinakis (or 'Alan' from the hangover) in it. And I am surprised by how much I enjoyed it actually, it might become one of my top 20 films.

Basically it is about Craig, a high-school junior, in the gifted program, infatuated with his best friend's girl. When he realizes he's suicidal, he checks himself into the psychiatric ward of a hospital, thinking they'll do an observation, help him, and send him home in time for school the next day. Once in, however, he must stay for a week; the juvenile ward is being renovated, so he's in with adults as well as a few youths. Bobby, a man with a young daughter, shows him around; Craig notices Noelle, about his age. He tries to keep his friends from finding out where he is. And the longer he stays the more he learns about himself and about others.

It sounds kind of lame when you some it up in a synopsis, but it really is a very good story, and definitely  worth watching if you haven't seen it. I also recently discovered its a book as well which honestly I haven't read yet but I very much plan on reading it in the future. If its half as good as the film then I know I'm going to love it.

Pewdi & Cutie, Kalanthony, Jim & Tan, Zalfie

These guys are the reason I believe in love, whether they met on the Internet, at a party, or through YouTube, they make it look easy. And all though they probably fight all the time on the other end of the camera, they never let it on. I think that's pretty cool of them.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Most of you have probably seen  The Perks of Being a Wallflower a movie based on the book by Stephen Chbosky, but only recently did I decide to have a go reading it. And I must admit I was surprised by how much I liked it.

Everybody knows that 99% of the time the book is better than the movie, and that goes for everything even Harry Potter, and although I did hear that in this case the rule applied I never quite believed it. I'm not sure why really, I just assumed it would be exactly the same with a couple extra details, which to be honest it was. However while reading the book I understood the characters so much more. I could see why so and so would do this, or that, instead of the right thing. Even though some of the characters came across very differently in the book, I still invested so much in each of them. It was really heartbreaking at times.

If you haven't read the book, I would recommend you get right on it, because if you were like me after watching the film ( a little confused) then the book will really clear up all of the loose ends you need tying up for you. Also Christmas is coming up, so if you run short of ideas of what to buy a friend just head on down t the local bookshop and buy a copy.

The art of Tim Burton

As some of you may not Tim Burton is a very famous, VERY successful movie director. My favorite movie of his must be Sweeney Todd, the Corps Bride and Alice in Wonderland. But he is also an incredible artist, I mean seriously check some of these out.

 http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/19100000/Tim-Burton-s-art-tim-burton-and-danny-elfman-films-19104265-1820-2356.jpg

He has created many more pieces which are available for purchase online (Not at a cheap price!). If you're interested visit [ timburton.com ]. I don't know why but there is something about his style that I just really love, although some of his works are really terrifying. I guess that's what makes them unique.

Rebecca Black's - Saturday

YouTube celebrity Rebecca Black famous for her song Friday has just release (07/12/13) a new single called Saturday! There is a huge amount of build up over this song, as probably most of you know her last song was such a huge.... money maker... I'm not going to say hit, most of the people who watched it didn't leave much positive feedback. To be honest I quite liked Friday, I thought it was bad enough to be kind of good.

It is currently all over the front page so you don't have to look far to find it and she cast a whole bunch of different YouTubers in it including :
Dave Days         ( http://youtube.com/davedays )
Joey Anderton    ( http://youtube.com/bambamjoey )
Connor Franta    ( http://youtube.com/connorfranta )
Ricky Dillon      ( http://youtube.com/rickydillon )
Jenn McAllister  ( http://youtube.com/jennxpennn )
Lauren Elizabeth ( http://youtube.com/lolufullyloaded )
Mathew Lush      ( http://youtube.com/lush )
Jaclyn Glenn      ( http://youtube.com/jaclynglenn )
Ali Wilderman    ( http://youtube.com/alibrynn )
Jon D             ( http://youtube.com/simplyspoons )
Black Prez        ( http://youtube.com/blackprez303 )
Nikki Hollywood  ( http://youtube.com/nickiinhollywood )

So far the video is getting more and more views by the second and is currently about to reach 3million views, and although it does have an almost half bar of dislikes it is definitely a lot better (and funnier than the 'Friday' song). It doesn't take itself nearly as seriously which does make it a lot less cheesy. Well in any case I think it's better but feel free to leave your opinions in the comments.

Marriage

Today I wanted to make a discussion kind of thing about Marriage because, to be honest, I don't really understand it. I understand why someone would want to show how much they love someone else with a big gesture, but you could just as easily buy them a house. These days a house would probably be the cheaper option.
I grew up in a somewhat broken family, don't get me wrong, we're all very happy, but when I was 9 my parents got a divorce. I don't remember them fighting in front of us, they were always very good at keeping that hidden which I am eternally grateful for, but in the end they couldn't sort out their problems and decided to leave each other.

I guess that's why I don't believe in Marriage. I think being married it puts too much strain on a relationship. When you're just dating you try really hard to keep the other person happy, because you know it would be easy for them just to up and leave you one day. But with Marriage it's like there is a safety net, like you know you can come home drunk every night because you're only coming home to your wife. And you know from your vows that it lasts forever so you can mess up if you want to, cheat on you partner if you like because in the end they cant just pack a suitcase and leave you. Some people however get insanely stressed out by the fact they think its going to last forever, they chicken out, do what they can to make sure the relationship ends.

I know some people are married for years and are still very happy, and I have the utmost respect for those people, but I cannot see that in my future unless the person I am with desperately wants to be married. In which case (just for them) of course I am going to get married. But otherwise I don't see why I need a piece of paper to tell me I love someone.

Christmas Present Frustration

I can't be the only one who is constantly frustrated with not having any ideas of what to get people for Christmas. And this isn't just a Christmas think, it's just with presents in general, whether it be : Birthdays, Easter, Hanukkah.... I can't really think of any other holidays.
So when you get frustrated and feel like your running out of time, think of this poem.

A yawning gulf between
My vision-tree and my reality-plant.

A yawning gulf between
The place I love to live and the place I live.
I love to live under the vault of heaven.
Alas, my existence lives
In the valley of the shadow of death.
Peace has escaped my remembrance;
Delight, too.

But I know a swing of the pendulum
Will change my face and fate.
My surrender supreme
Shall marry my dream-boat
With my reality-shore.

I know this was a short post, but sometimes when you are having stressful days, like the one I am  having today, then things are better when they are kept short. I also like listening to music when I'm stressed out, and when I'm frustrated I like to go on walks.

See ya soon,
